Re-scoring classic silent films with haunting, and thrilling, contemporary soundtracks, 3epkano are gaining world acclaim as they give audiences an unique experience: to rediscover the aural magic of pre-talkie cinema. Commissioned by prestigious institutions including The National Gallery of Ireland, Film Society of Lincoln Center and the Brooklyn Academy of Music (BAM) in New York, they will also play this summer's Electric Picnic! This is the seven piece group's first visit to Kinsale. To mark the occasion, they perfrom one of their latest scores, accompanying the 1929 classic film Diary of a Lost Girl, starring the legendary silent screen beauty, Louise Brooks. The tale of a young woman seduced by an unscrupulous and mercenary character (played with gusto by Fritz Rasp, the degenerate villain of such Fritz Lang classics as Metropolis). The film follows Brooks' journey from the pit of despair to the moment of awakening. Directed by the great G. W.
